Spend a day in Oxford

Oxford has lots of picturesque scenery, as well as loads of amazing things to do! If you’re only staying with our boutique hotel for a short amount of time, we’ve picked out some of the best ways to spend your trip. We’re not saying you will get all these done in one-day, but it’s a good excuse to come back and visit us again to tick the remainder off your list!

City Sightseeing bus

What’s not to love about these buses? Hop on at your local stop and then hop off again when you feel like it! The City Sightseeing Oxford bus tour takes around an hour in total, departing every 10-15 minutes in the summer. The closest stop to our Oxford city centre hotel is Westgate, just a 3-minute walk away from us. The tour takes you to iconic places like Oxford Castle, Christ Church, The Radcliffe Camera, Sheldonian theatre and North Parade to name a few. You can buy your tickets for the tour here or they can be bought from the driver on the day. Tickets are valid for 24 or 48 hours on the City Sightseeing red and green buses, where you can get on and off at any of the 20 stops on route!

Junkyard Golf Club

Channel your inner Tiger Woods, whilst sipping on some funky cocktails, at Junkyard Golf Club! Located just a short walk from our Oxford hotel. Choose from 3 different courses; Pablo, Gary and Bozo and beat your friends or loved one as you get a hole in one (obviously!) All the courses are made from reclaimed items – hence the Junkyard theme. It is recommended that you book. If you get there before your golfing session begins, why not make use of the extra time to try one of their cocktails? We’ll have a Ribena Turner, thanks!

Mini Cooper plant tour

Take a trip to the Mini Cooper plant in Oxford, located just a short drive from our boutique hotel in Oxford city centre. On this tour you’ll take a journey through more than 100 years of Oxford’s car making history and discover how the car plant can make over 1,000 made to order cars every day, in just 67 seconds! Booking is advised for this tour, and it’s worth noting that sensible footwear must be worn. Unfortunately, those with a pacemaker are not permitted to tour.

Oxford Botanic Garden

Ever feel like you just want to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of city life? Then why not visit the oldest garden in Britain; Oxford Botanic garden is a worldwide sensation. Famous author Lewis Carroll, of Alice in Wonderland fame, spent many a day in the walled garden with his acquaintance Alice Liddell who the book was named after. Take a leisurely stroll around the gardens and experience the incredible plants and flowers Mother Nature has to offer! Tickets can be booked here.
