We love Oxford in all weathers, but sometimes rain can really dampen your mood. To prevent this from happening, our luxury hotel in Oxford has compiled a guide of how to spend a rainy day in the City of Dreaming Spires!
Visit the theatre
For almost 185 years, George Street in Oxford has been home to a theatre and it’s only a short walk away from our Oxford hotel. Oxford New Theatre is playing host to a whole load of fantastic acts this year, from comedians and ballet performances to musicals and sing-along movies! If the heavens do decide to open, a trip here is bound to lift your spirits.

Explore Blenheim Palace
Birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace should definitely be on your rainy day list. Only a short drive from our hotel in Oxford city centre! Take a look around the Palace State Rooms, discover the Churchill exhibition and even find out what life ‘downstairs’ was like during centuries gone by. If the rain decides to ease, you can enjoy a walk around the palace gardens.

Visit the Fudge Kitchen
Picture the scene, you’re out and about in Oxford doing your shopping when all of a sudden, the rain starts pouring. Nightmare! If this does happen (and you’re nearby) why not head into the Fudge Kitchen. Once inside, get a whiff of all the delicious fudgy smells and then head through to the kitchen, to watch them make fudge from scratch. If you’re lucky, you might even get a little sample! When you’re done, why not buy yourself some fudge to enjoy when you’re back and cosy in our boutique Oxford hotel.
